Welcome to “Democrats on the Couch.” I’m your host, Michelle Deen, a family therapist turned political strategist. As with patients on an analyst’s couch, I’m here to bring sense and sanity to Democrats and their strategy.
I’ll be shedding light on the craziness that’s infested Capitol Hill and is infecting us all. From the hostile discord of our leaders to the polarization of citizens, America has become one big dysfunctional family that needs an intervention—now.
We’ll discuss these dynamics to help manage the frustration, anger, and hopelessness taking over our country.
I’ll also bring my clinical skills to help strengthen the Democratic Party on three fronts—
First by counseling Democrats on how to resolve their own party’s bitter conflict in order to truly unify because making nice through gritted teeth is not good enough.
To win, Democrats have to bond together as one solid, unbeatable force.
Second, by advising Democrats on how to handle Trump’s cunning manipulations in order to strategically respond rather than emotionally react…which is exactly what he wants because this is what gives him his power—He plays Democrats like puppets on a string.
And third, by addressing what Democrats need to do to re-build rapport and better communicate with Middle America because, I’ll tell ya, they’re doing a damn poor job of it.
As you can see, I bring a creative, hybrid approach to Party strategy that combines psychological insights with traditional principles of political communications.
The overall aim here- is to enable the Democratic Party to actually take charge of the fate of our nation—instead of the useless, victimized, blaming and complaining about Trump and Republicans that gets. Us. Nowhere. But deeper into a political abyss.
